Installation is quoted inside an installed price rather than as a separate labor line, because split labor figures are not comparable between companies. A window off a big-box shelf costs a fraction of a finished opening. The rest covers removal, prep, sealing, flashing, trim, and cleanup, and those belong on separate lines.

There are two methods for a window going into an existing opening. A retrofit insert leaves the frame in place, which keeps labor down. Full-frame takes everything out to the rough framing, adds new trim, and runs 20 to 30 percent higher. Which one you need depends on sill condition, so we inspect first.

Replacement windows carry two warranties, and they are worth reading separately. The manufacturer covers the window itself, and the installer covers the workmanship that keeps it sealed. Check whether glass breakage is included, what voids coverage, and whether it transfers when you sell. Our warranty coverage spells out both.

Fog between the panes means the sealed glass unit failed, not the whole window. A window that sticks or will not stay open usually needs new hardware, not replacement. A soft sill, or water inside the wall, points to full-frame replacement. Our free estimate can help you understand which you have.
